The Westover Christian Academy varsity boys basketball team picked up another district win. Isaac Motley was tasked with guarding Temple’s best player Garrison Green who has averaged 19 points on the year Isaac was able to hold him to just four field goals. Matthew Moore came off the bench to have the best game of his career hitting three three-pointers for a total of 10 points on the night. He also had three assists and two steals. Josh Lewis kept up his consistent play with a 19 point outing. Dawson Booth had a good defensive night having four rebounds an assist and two blocks. Dylan Aron had 10 points, 9 rebounds and three assists. Jezekiah Morris added six points and Isaac Motley had four, Noah Burton added Four as well. Austin Salmon had one. The Bulldogs had an outstanding overall defense of effort holding the Crusaders to no more than 10 points in a quarter. The first quarter limiting them to five points and holding them to 36 for the night. 13 of the Crusaders 36 points came at the free-throw line. Westover will be back at home Friday night after playing the last seven games on the road the Bulldogs will be looking forward to returning to the dog pound! The Westover middle school boys basketball team played the Temple Christian Crusaders on Tuesday night. Westover began the game firing on all cylinders and quickly took a 15 to 2 lead. From there the Bulldogs focused heavily on distributing the ball to each of their teammates and finished the first half with a score of 19 to 9. Westover maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game and before the game ended 10 out of 12 of Westover’s players had scored. A strong team effort gave the Bulldogs their third straight win with a final score of 33-18. Blake Johnson led in scoring with 14 points. The Bulldog’s record is now 6-3.
