We had an amazing time visiting Danville Regional Airport today!
Our students climbed into an Averett University airplane and learned how the flight controls help maneuver the aircraft. We also discovered how airplanes are refueled—and did you know airplane fuel is dyed blue?
Next, we rode the airport trolley and got a behind-the-scenes look at the important work the grounds crew does every day to keep pilots and passengers safe. To top it all off, we visited the control tower, where we watched several planes take off and land!
A huge thank you to Mark, Travis, and the entire airport staff for giving us such a fun, educational, and unforgettable experience!
