In between classes yesterday, I was walking down this hall behind two high school girls when I heard one of them say to the other with completely sincerity, "I'll be praying!" Hearing something like that in contrast to what I would likely hear in any other high school hallway makes all the difference. ❤

During this Advent season, hope, love, peace, and joy are our focus. Today the sweet 3rd graders in Mrs. Owen's class left me a lovely note, bringing me great joy. I later heard they did this during their free play time. I am always grateful for these random acts of kindness. It is a gift to care for the students at WCA!

The Westover Christian Academy boys basketball team was back at home tonight for a district contest with the Faith-Hurt Lions. WCA was led by Dylan Aron who had 17 points, 13 of those in the third quarter. WCA started the game a little shaky on defense but was able to go up 20 to 12 because of very efficient offense. The Bulldogs locked down on defense for quarters number two and three holding the lions to five points in the second quarter to go up at the half 33 to 17. The Bulldogs continued to clamp down in a man-to-man defense throughout the third-quarter holding the Lions to six points and scoring 22 to put things out of reach. Faith would get hot in the 4th quarter hitting 18 points but WCA was still able to win handily. Final score 71-41 in a complete team victory Josh Lewis was the second leading scorer for Westover he had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 assists. Jezekiah Morris had 9 points and 4 rebounds. Dawson Booth had 4 points and led the team with 10 rebounds. Chris Miller had 8 points, 2 assists, along with two steals. Senior Captain Austin Salmon had four assists. Noah Burton added 5 points and 4 assists. Aaron Haley had a breakout performance tonight with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists for the junior. Isaac Motley chipped in 2 points and had 2 assists as well. Matt Moore had a three point shot in the fourth quarter. This improves the Bulldogs record to 4-1, 4-0 in VACA. WCA will face another district game Friday night at 8 o’clock against Temple Christian.
